The Hunger Games- The Movie Not the Book

Well, here's the deal about the Hunger Games. I read the books. All three, many times. I was super excited for the movie. I dressed up as Katniss, went to the midnight showing, and I was disappointed.
And before everybody is all "Stone, how did you not like the movie?!!" Let me explain.

I'm first going to start with the details. If you've read the book, you should understand me. If you've seen the movie and not the book (READ THE BOOK) you may be a little confused. First the good things, the actors were good at the action scenes. Like really good. Most of the beginning was pretty good. Peeta was great at I'm super in love with Katniss. The Gamemaker extra scenes were good, actually I'm glad they added those. The uprising in 11, that was a good foreshadowing.

The things that popped out to me, Cinna was meh. Peeta didn't loose his leg. Katniss didn't go deaf in one ear. Cato was hot. Thresh could've been different. The mutts at the end were disappointing. Where did Madge go? Where did Greasy Sae go? Where did Avox(es) go? Haymitch? Where did Katnisses thoughts go? Peeta and Katniss in the cave for 2 days? Their love seemed smaller without this. Katniss with Rue? What? Where did Cato's 'I got rid of Loverboy' line go? Didn't explain peacemakers enough. WHERE DID THE END GO?!

Now I am going to rant about what bothered me the most. Near the end, after the games, Peeta and Katniss are supposed to watch parts of the games and then be interviewed about the games. In the book, she was supposed to be acting like she was really in love with Peeta. And in the book, SHE WAS REALLY IN LOVE WITH PEETA! In the movie Jennifer Lawrence was like 'I couldn't imagine life without him.'  Don't get me wrong, Lawrence is a great actress, but she just didn't do this for me. When she is at interviews the first time, she spins to show off her dress and she is supposed to say "Oh, no, I can't spin anymore. I'm so dizzy!" In this girly "I am trying to act kind of stupid" voice. In the movie it was kind of like "Ug, I can't spin anymore." Bleck.

But people, don't think that I didn't like the movie. The action scenes were great. The actors were mostly good *cough cough Alexander and Josh cough cough*.  And I know that they can't make everything in there but the real people they advertise too, the readers, would've sat through a 3 hour movie.

Movie Rating Scale:
1-5
0- Probably sat through the whole movie by force and complained afterward.
1- Average. 2/3 of the movie was probably bad.
2- Okay. Might have been better if I wrote the screenplay.
3- Not bad. Probably see it again and recommend it.
4- My kind of movie. probably only a few things bothered me.
5- Wow! I loved this movie! (I'm picky about movies. This won't come up often)
6 and above- No words needed.

Rating
3/5

As always, if you have anything you would like me to review, please leave it in the comments.
